About Vélez-Málaga
Vélez-Málaga is the historic capital of the Axarquía, the comarca that stretches east of Málaga along the coast and up into the mountains. The town sits a few kilometres inland from the sea on the Vélez river plain, with its old quarter wrapped around a hill topped by a Moorish fortress. It is a working Spanish town first and a resort second.
